Fix C by GE lights set up via Google Home not turning on

I just got some c by GE smart switches. Looking to control them with HA. You must have already set up your devices in the partner app . To control your devices more easily, assign them to a room in a home.

You can create a new home, create a new room, or add your devices to an existing room. You can add each device to one room only. To complete the setup, follow the in-app steps. You might have too many Cync devices in one Home app home. You can add up to 6 Cync devices per Google Assistant device in your home. You might not be a member of the home that the Cync device was set up in.

Cync or C by GE Smart Bulbs, Strips, and Plugs can be set up directly with Google devices. Follow the in-app instructions to complete setup. It disconnects the device for all members of the home. At the top, select the home with the room you want to delete.

Touch and hold the name of the room you want to change. At the top right, tap Settings Room choose a room tap Next. At the top left, tap Add Set up device Works with Google. It’s not clear what caused this issue in the first place with Google Nest on Twitter acknowledging this morning and GE Lighting providing the fix.

Just makes sense to do it that way as a result. I also used home assistant node to create an entity. Contribute to yangqian/hass-gelight development by creating an account on GitHub.

If your Cync devices aren’t set up in the Cync app, you can set them up in the Google Home app. If you haven’t already, set up your device in the C by GE app. First, connect your C by GE devices to the C by GE app. My guess, for the same reason I didn't. I wanted to make some use of the app along side of Home, plus, I'm setting up swtiches, too.

If you want to set up a Cync (C by GE) smart switch

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong - I just have 3 bulbs I got for free so I’m not too invested fortunately. Under "In your home" or "Local devices," you can find all devices on the same network that aren’t part of a home or room. Complicated process that involves manually turning on/off in quick succession — any C by GE fixtures. Rather, all users need to do is reboot the Google Home/Nest Mini or Hub that paired the lights.

Ask the person who created the home to add you as a member. You can turn your device on and off or change the Tunable White bulb color temperature. To move devices from the Cync app, delete them from the Cync app and set them up in the Google Home app. If, however, you're speaking to a Google Home device in an adjacent room to the light you want to control, you will have to call it by name. We named our bulb "Light 1."

Google Home will identify and display the C by GE devices you have connected to your C by GE app. If you have more than one, you will set up each device one at a time. Select the first and follow the steps in-app.

But beyond that, I'm having the same issue, from the admittedly light description. If I try to add it from the Home app, nothing happens. If I try it from in the CbyGE app, Home opens up then freezes. I then just created a switch that sends the command that I want with the code above. Basically it just pretends like I actually said the command to my Google home.
